This course, Nursing Fundamentals, is designed to give the student the necessary skills to become a competent certified nursing assistant. This course offers the student the opportunity to apply hands on experience obtained in the classroom setting to the clinical setting.
The students will have their clinical experience at Graybrier Nursing Center and Rehab facility in Trinity NC. The times for the experience are to be determined once everyone has checked off their skills and competence has been established.
Expectations are held high to prepare the student for how the real world in the health care really is. I will have a parent meeting to answer any and all questions that either parent or student might have.
I count it a privilege to be able to teach this class and provide this valuable opportunity to each of you. This is my 9th year teaching at the high school level and also have experience at the community college level with the CNA class. I enjoy the opportunity to see students evolve from their clinical experience into the future healthcare providers each of them have the capability to be.
Thanks for allowing me to introduce you to a small portion of the healthcare world!
