The first week of school will have a unit on “How you can be successful in Canvas” to get us off to a great start!!
1.00 Understand employability skills for healthcare professionals
1.01 Understand characteristics and attributes of healthcare professionals (covered in 5 days)
1.02 Understand trans-cultural awareness related to healthcare systems (covered in 5 days)
1.03 Understand legal and ethical issues related to healthcare (covered in 6 days)
2.00 Understand healthcare safety and infection control procedure
2.01 Understand communicable disease pathology, treatment, and prevention (covered in 8 days)
2.02 Understand infection control and aseptic procedures (covered 4 days)
3.00 Understand cardiovascular and respiratory systems and how to respond to emergencies.
3.01 Understand the structures, functions, and disorders of the respiratory system (covered in 8 days)
3.02 Understand the structures, functions, and disorders of the cardiovascular system (covered in 8 days)
3.03 Apply BLS CPR and AED skills to respond to respiratory and cardiovascular emergencies (covered in 8 days)
4.00 Understand the domains of healthcare.
4.01 Understand diagnostic and therapeutic services (covered in 12 days)
4.02 Understand health informatics and support services (covered in 8 days)
Each unit/objective covered will include an assessment afterwards to assess each student’s understanding and mastery of concepts discussed as well as taught. These assessments may include but not limited to “unit tests”, Quizzes, and/or projects.
